2018 Designer Showhouse Calendar

Designer showhouses are a trove of decorating inspiration; as a bonus, the proceeds typically benefit a worthy cause. Southern Living 2018 Austin Idea House
Austin, TX
Now through November 8
To make over a four-bedroom fixer-upper, Southern Living magazine enlisted local talent, including designer Meredith Ellis, who’d previously worked for Bunny Williams and Michael Smith, and architect Chris Sanders. Tickets are $20; a portion of the proceeds benefits Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Oklahoma Designer Show House
Edmond, OK
September 7-16
Among the nearly two dozen design pros who worked on this 6,357-square-foot home are Phara Queen, whose clients have included singers Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani; Travis Neely of Neely Design Associates; Roost Oklahoma founder Andrea Meister; and Carissa Stevens, founder of Scout Studios. The home, located by the 12th tee of the Oak Tree West golf course, includes four bedrooms, a library, and a pool with a 12-foot waterfall. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the gate, and all proceeds benefit Free to Live Animal Sanctuary.

Denver Life Designer Showhouse 2018
Denver
September 8-23
Designers from 15 firms—including Abigail-Elise Design Studio, D’Amore Interiors, Kaleidoscope Design, and K Studios & Company—work their magic on a room each inside a 5,488-square-foot, four-story new-build home. Proceeds from the $20 donation at the door go to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.

2018 Serenbe Designer Showhouse
Chattahoochee Hills, GA
September 14-October 7
More than a dozen designers, led by Solís Betancourt & Sherrill alum Meredith McBrearty, get creative in a four-bedroom modern farmhouse. Tickets are $20; proceeds benefit the Art Farm at Serenbe.

Junior League of Detroit 2018 Designers’ Show House
Detroit
September 15-October 7
Last year author, activist, and The Good Doctor co-star Harper Hill bought the Fisher Mansion, located in Detroit’s historic Boston Edison neighborhood; this year he’s allowing 40 designers and landscapers to help restore and transform it. Among those working on the 14-bedroom, 18,000-square-foot estate are Corey Damen Jenkins, one of Traditional Home’s New Trad Rising Stars of Design; Meg Caswell, a winner of HGTV’s Design Star; and Julia Buckingham, author of Modernique: Inspiring Interiors Mixing Vintage and Modern Style. Tickets are $35, with the proceeds supporting a variety of Detroit-area programs.

Richmond Symphony Orchestra League Designer House
Richmond, VA
September 17-October 14
Another historic home, the Queen Anne-style Holly Lawn in Richmond’s Hermitage Road Historic District, serves as the canvas for 19 designers, including Kenneth Byrd, Tracy deShazo, and Merry Powell. Tickets are $30, and proceeds benefit the Richmond Symphony.

Historic Ellicott City Show House
Woodbine, MD
September 21-October 21
Part of the Baltimore metro area, Ellicott City suffered significant flooding earlier this year; proceeds from this showhouse—Wilderness Farm, a Victorian-style farmhouse built in 1905—in neighboring Woodbine will go toward recovery efforts.

ShowHouse Santa Fe
Santa Fe, NM
October 5-14
ShowHouse Santa Fe took an unusual approach this year: Each of the 14 designers, including ShowHouse co-founders Jennifer Ashton and David Naylor, was paired with a local chef for inspiration. Tickets are $30, with proceeds benefiting Dollars4schools.

Holiday House NYC
New York
October 24-December 2
Almost as much of a New York City holiday tradition as the Rockefeller Center tree, this showhouse on the Upper East Side is “a celebration of life, beauty, and optimism as an antidote to cancer”; proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. While this year’s participating designers have not yet been named, last year’s Holiday House included rooms designed by Alyssa Kapito, Cynthia Spence, and Jaime Walters, among other top names.

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse and Marketplace
Atlanta
November 15-December 9
An 8,232-square-foot new build in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead neighborhood is the locale for the 10th annual Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles holiday showhouse. Proceeds benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

2018 Christmas at the Daniel Webster Estate
Marshfield, MA
December 8-16
Located on Massachusetts’s South Shore, just outside of Boston, the Daniel Webster Estate is an 1880 Queen Anne-style home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This year, as it has since 2005, the Daniel Webster Preservation Trust has invited area designers to dress up the rooms for Christmas. Proceeds benefit the trust.
