A Parting Piece of Knowledge…

Juju hats have been favorites of designers and interiors enthusiasts for years, their handsome plumage providing a welcome pop of color and texture to a wall. But the juju hat’s purpose is far greater than serving as an aesthetic addition to a room.

Hailing from the African nation of Cameroon, juju hats have been in use for centuries. They play a special role in the ceremonial culture of the Bamileke people of the region, thanks to the belief that they bring protection and prosperity to those in their presence. High-ranking citizens would don them as headwear during weddings, performances, and religious rituals.
