A Parting Piece of Knowledge…
Folding screens have been around for thousands of years—they’re believed to have originated around the fourth century BCE during the Zhou Dynasty in China. Often decorated with elaborate paintings featuring fanciful scenes from mythology or nature, their main purpose was to partition off an area of a room while adding beauty and interest to a space. Their uses today include that and more: We love them hung on the wall as an oversize piece of art or placed behind a bed as a stylish headboard alternative.
