What We’ve Been Up To…
The One Kings Lane team works hard to bring you an assortment of uniquely stylish finds, and one way we do that is by partnering with our favorite designers and makers to create collections you’ll find only here. Our design collaboration with heritage linens brand Matouk has been a best-seller for years, our block-print designs from Roller Rabbit are new customer favorites, and our California-inspired bedding with Matteo is not to be missed. We also work with luxury lighting and decor brand Bradburn Home to design gorgeous lamps that are handcrafted in Italy—pieces that are certain to brighten your space in more ways than one.

A Parting Piece of Knowledge…
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when the sconce as we know it came about, but it’s safe to say some form of wall-mounted lighting has been around for hundreds of years. The earliest example: a torch fastened to a wall, meant to light the way in long dark corridors and to be removed for handheld illumination. Candles later took the place of torches and were often paired with reflective backplates to amplify the light. Thanks to the invention of electricity, these often-dangerous open-flame models were replaced with light bulbs, and today’s beautiful sconces run the gamut from elaborately shaped tole creations to simple swing-arm styles.
