Jane Scott Hodges’s Palm-Print Den in New Orleans

In her 1869 Greek Revival home in New Orleans’s Garden District, Jane Scott Hodges, founder of luxury monogram linen shop Leontine Linens, doesn’t shy away from wallpaper—or anything for that matter. Adjacent to her white marble kitchen is a den covered in silver palm-printed wallpaper by Cole & Son. A foundation for a bold blue Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon fabric and punchy coral and citron pillows, the patterned paper is perhaps the most subtle accent in the room.

A Blue Patterned Foyer by Patrick Mele

New York–based interior designer Patrick Mele told us, “I’m not afraid of color. I like bold statements with color.” Needless to say, we were not surprised to encounter a bright and playful wallpaper by David Hicks in the expansive foyer of one of his clients. While traditional, the paper certainly isn’t shy, and it helps to bring a sense of lightness to the room, balancing the darkness of existing wood detailing and the dark wood trestle table.
A Bamboo-Print Dining Room by Hillary Thomas

Designed by interior designer Hillary Thomas, the Los Angeles home of Lauren Weisbarth (sister to One Kings Lane co-founder Alison Pincus) is polished, lively, and family friendly. For the bright and airy dining room, Thomas chose a preppy green bamboo-trellis-print wallpaper. “We wanted one eye-catching element in each room,” she says. The paper is complemented by a navy tole pagoda pendant light, and anchored by sky blue curtains and gray upholstered dining chairs.
Lulu Powers’s Exuberant West Hollywood Home

Free-spirited, fun-loving entertaining guru and celebrity chef Lulu Powers is as exuberant as they come, and her home doesn’t fall far from the tree. “It’s a happy house,” the Connecticut native says of her 1927 West Hollywood bungalow. Powers has hung bold and daring wallpapers at every corner, and we’re especially smitten with her breakfast nook which is covered in Palmeral print by House of Hackney. It’s a lively place to start the day.
Alex Papachristidis’s Pattern-Packed New York Apartment

A-list decorator Alex Papachristidis knows a thing or two about wallpapers: There are more in his Manhattan high-rise than we can count. The incredible thing about the wallpapers in his home is how it transforms a modern apartment into one that feels wholly Old World. In one petite bedroom, which serves as a dressing room, Papachristidis chose a Manuel Canovas Tree of Life–esque floral print, and not only covered the walls in it, but also applied it to the drapes, sofa, and lampshades for major impact. Wow is an understatement.
