Meet Shannon Frappied

Meet Shannon Frappied
Filed Under:

No one knows fabric like Shannon Frappied. Before joining the One Kings Lane Interior Design team in Boston, Shannon spent years working with fabric industry legend Kravet and its sister brands Lee Jofa and Brunschwig & Fils. She found herself in a world of inspiration. Day in and day out she would use those fabrics to create vignettes that would inspire home owners and interior designers alike.

You could describe Shannon’s style as traditional with an eclectic twist, but “designing a home is personal,” she says. “It should reflect the personalities and comfort of the people who live there.” She approaches her projects as a master sculptor approaches a block of clay. “Every home has its unique bones. Every client has their story to tell. The exciting, and sometimes challenging, part of it is molding them together to create a beautiful home.”

Get to Know Shannon

On her style: “I’d say I like to be eclectic with a mix of traditional with some minimalism and some vintage to add flair and personality.”

When decorating you should never skimp on… “Art, dressing up the wall with a personal piece or something found in traveling. Those pieces bring in your personality. And lighting. It helps round out the space and gives it personality.”

Where she finds inspiration: “I would say a lot in my travels. I like to take inspiration in museums, the architecture of buildings, textiles–all those things that come about when you’re exploring. I did just go to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and I definitely drew inspiration there.”

No room is complete without… “Drapery. Right now I’m personally focusing on drapery in my home. It dresses up the space. If you want a neutral tone, drapery is a great way to add a little interest through pattern or color. It really rounds out the whole design.”
