A Well-Designed Day in Jackson
Filed Under:

We’re turning to our chicest friends for recommendations on the hottest places in the coolest locales for our Well-Designed Day series. This week we head to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Not only is the Jackson Hole area a fabulous destination for skiers and snowboard-lovers alike, but the town of Jackson is filled with incredible restaurants and unique shops as well. Here are the hot spots you can’t miss during a winter vacation there.

Grab Breakfast at Persephone Bakery

A chic French bakery known for its artisanal breads, pastries, and coffee, Persephone Bakery is a must-visit while you’re here. We’d suggest stopping by on a day when you aren’t hitting the slopes. Enjoy one of its delicious pastries while you people-watch.

Go Snowshoeing Around Taggart Lake

If you’re looking for a scenic activity off the slopes, spend an afternoon of snowshoeing around Taggart Lake. Located within Grand Teton National Park, the trail is perfect for beginners yet still provides stunning views of the park and the Teton Range.

Explore the Town Square

Jackson’s bustling downtown is about a 20-minute drive from the major ski resort, and you’ll want to swing by for dinner and shopping at least once during your stay here. The square features four impressive arches made of shed antlers from the nearby National Elk Refuge. Be sure to snap a picture standing under them at night when they’re lit up with twinkle lights! Then stop into the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, grab a drink, and perch yourself on one of its saddle barstools.

Hit the Slopes at Jackson Hole Mountain

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort provides a variety of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all levels along with stunning views. Take the tram up to the summit at least once during your visit here, should your skill level allow!

Take the Tram to Corbet’s Cabin

Head up to Rendezvous Peak to stop at Corbet’s Cabin, which serves up some of the best waffles you’ll ever eat, with toppings such as brown sugar butter, Nutella, and peanut butter and bacon. If getting down the mountain from this 10,450-foot-high peak sounds intimidating, don’t worry—you can always take the tram back down.

Après-Ski at the Handle Bar or Mangy Moose

Come dusk, you’ll be ready to unbuckle your boots and hit the local bars for après-ski. Located at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain, the Handle Bar and Mangy Moose are two favorite stops. At the Handle Bar you’ll find outdoor seating with open fire pits and delicious cocktails. At Mangy Moose, indulge in a platter of its famous nachos washed down by a cold beer. Either way, you can’t go wrong!
